Notes/Reminders:

Keyboarding test will be later this month.  Practice at Free-Typing-Test.com.

Planner: Remember to have it signed every day.

 
Independent Reading: Read 20 minutes per night. 100 minutes required.  Record minutes in planner.

PTA Reading Contest  Keep track of your minutes in your planners between January 17th and February 18th for a chance to win some terrific prizes!  See the flyer that went home today.  There are individual prizes as well as class prizes.  Our school could win a visit from a Utah JAZZ basketball player!!!

EARPHONES/HEADPHONES: EACH STUDENT NEEDS HIS/HER OWN SET. THEY DO NOT NEED AN EXPENSIVE PAIR. A FEW STUDENTS HAVE REPORTED THAT THEY BOUGHT THEIRS AT THE DOLLAR STORE.

Elk Meadows Elementary Choir is starting February 4.  Practices will be Tuesday and Thursday from 7:45-8:15 AM.  We are so excited to be having a school choir this year,  and we look forward to a lot of 6th grade participation! Applications are still be accepted until next Tuesday, February 4.

Homework:

Math:  Worksheet 5-13 due 1/29.  The 7th Math Placement test will be on Monday, February 3.  Please make sure your child is at school.  For more information on Math Placement for 7th grade, visit the Math tab on the blog.
 

Science:  Good work on the test today! Tomorrow we begin our exploration of the world of light. 

Language Arts:  Keyboarding (wpm) tests this week in class. 

Reading:  Spelling Week #9,  Parent Letter #9 due: Wednesday, 1/29.
Today we completed chapters 17-19 in the "Tuck Everlasting" workbook.  Tomorrow we will have a skills test and read chapters 20-22.  Please encourage your child to keep up. Many students did not complete chapters 17-19, and it will show up as a missing assignment on Skyward.
