Elk Meadows Elementary Choir is starting on Tuesday.  Practices will be Tuesday and Thursday from 7:45-8:15 AM.  We are so excited to be having a school choir this year,  and we look forward to a lot of 6th grade participation! Applications are still be accepted until next Tuesday, February 4.

Homework:

Math: #5-15 Worksheet due on Monday, February 3.  Monday is also placement testing for 7th grade math classes. 
 
Science:

Language Arts:  DOL Sentences #1-4 Due: Monday, February 3.  Prepositions Review Test: Tuesday, February 4. Spelling Counts!!! Students will need a 70% or higher to pass the test. 

Reading: Have a fabulous weekend. Read a book for fun!!

Keyboarding:  Students should be keyboarding at 28 wpm minimum.  Practice at:  Free-Typing-Test.com.
Timed tests are part of students' Technology grade.

Language Arts: Essay: "Space Shuttle Mission." Due: Monday, January 27. Essay requires five paragraphs and 1000-1200 words. Students have over the weekend to raise their scores. Remember a 4.2/6 points = 70% = C. Essay scores lower than a 4.2 are an NI.


Reading: We are enjoying the novel Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt.  Your student should have read chapters 17-19 today.  We started the workbook questions/discussion and will finish it next week.  It has been fun to have discussions about what it would be like to live forever as a 6th grader.
