Independent Reading: Read 20 minutes per night. 100 minutes required. Record minutes in planner.
PTA Reading Contest Keep track of your minutes in your planners between January 17th and February 18th for a chance to win some terrific prizes! See the flyer that went home today. There are individual prizes as well as class prizes. Our school could win a visit from a Utah JAZZ basketball player!!!

Homework:
EARPHONES/HEADPHONES: EACH STUDENT NEEDS HIS/HER OWN SET. THEY DO NOT NEED AN EXPENSIVE PAIR. A FEW STUDENTS HAVE REPORTED THAT THEY BOUGHT THEIRS AT THE DOLLAR STORE.
Math: Worked on Properties of Addition. No homework. For extra practice, visit ThinkCentral and try out some of those activities. The User Name and Password are both your lunch number.
Science: Star gazing- Use your maps to look for Orion and then one other constellation. Try for 5-10 minutes only, it's cold out there! If clouds roll in, don't worry about it. We'll try again later in the week.
Language Arts: Memorize Poem: "Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening." Due: January 21, 2014. Remember to practice saying it LOUD, SLOW, and CLEAR. Worth 100 points.
Reading: Spelling Dictation #8 Today. Tuck Everlasting
Chapters #10-13 due: Thursday, January 16. Make sure your sentences and paragraphs are complete as well as neat!
