PTA Contest Read-a-thon!!! Come join the fun! Friday, January 31, 2014.  Bring a pillow, blanket, favorite books, snacks, and water bottles.  You might even win an awesome prize!

 
Independent Reading: Read 20 minutes per night. 100 minutes required.  Record minutes in planner. READ EXTRA MINUTES FOR THE PTA READING CONTEST!!!

PTA Reading Contest  Keep track of your minutes in your planners between January 17th and February 18th for a chance to win some terrific prizes!  See the flyer that went home today.  There are individual prizes as well as class prizes.  Our school could win a visit from a Utah JAZZ basketball player!!!

EARPHONES/HEADPHONES: EACH STUDENT NEEDS HIS/HER OWN SET. THEY DO NOT NEED AN EXPENSIVE PAIR. A FEW STUDENTS HAVE REPORTED THAT THEY BOUGHT THEIRS AT THE DOLLAR STORE.

Elk Meadows Elementary Choir is starting on Tuesday.  Practices will be Tuesday and Thursday from 7:45-8:15 AM.  We are so excited to be having a school choir this year,  and we look forward to a lot of 6th grade participation! Applications are still be accepted until next Tuesday, February 4.

Homework:

Math: 5-15 worksheet is due on Monday Feb. 3rd.  Also, Placement Testing on Monday, Feb. 3.  We are working with Algebra equations and inequalities.
 

Science:

Language Arts:  DOL Sentences #1-4 Due: Monday, February 3.  Prepositions Review Test: Tuesday, February 4. Spelling Counts!!! Students will need a 70% or higher to pass the test. 

Reading: Discussed Chapters 20-22 in Tuck Everlasting and started workbook questions that will be due on Monday, Feb. 3. Book Orders are due tomorrow, January 31, as well.

Keyboarding:  Students should be keyboarding at 28 wpm minimum.  Practice at:  Free-Typing-Test.com.
Timed tests are part of students' Technology grade.
